Rev. Bonnie J. Gatchell, Executive Director & Co-Founder

Rev. Bonnie J. Gatchell is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. In 2010, she co-founded Route One Ministry to serve women and young girls who are sexually exploited and trafficked by the commercial sex trade. In 2022, Bonnie created and launched trauma training to equip pastors, elders, and churches on the basics of trauma, abuse, and best practices in response. As a minister in the Church, she deeply loves the local church. Still, she desires that we, the Church, address our blind spots around women, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and sexuality. Bonnie’s professional and personal background uniquely positions her to walk beside pastors and local churches as they grow in their response to abused women and girls.

She holds a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a ThM from The Boston Theological Institutes, which include Harvard and BU. In 2020, she completed the Trauma Narrative Response Certificate from the Allender Center of the Seattle School of Psychology and Theology. She lives in Boston, in the Dorchester neighborhood, where she often explores the Blue Hills, has a good cup of coffee, and enjoys delicious wine. When not in Boston, she can be seen traveling Europe!

Jen Pribaz, Office Administrator

Knowing the inherent dignity of all human life derives from being children of God, Jen has been active in a variety of ways supporting the vulnerable in her community, whether through prayer, volunteer work or friendship. Every person is a soul loved by our Lord, and it is a privilege to walk alongside women to remind them of their inherent worth, helping them see that they are beautifully and wonderfully made. Working with Route One allows Jen to be a part of the mission that shares this truth with women who would otherwise not know love or their inestimable value in the eyes of the Lord. Jen has been married to her husband for 20 years, with whom she has 7 beautiful children. When not seeing to her domestic duties, Jen can be found running the trails, entertaining friends at her home and helping out at her children’s schools.

Julie McGrath, Worcester Site Coordinator

Julie began serving as a volunteer with Route One in the summer of 2022, and stepped into the role of Worcester site coordinator in May 2025. She grew up in Pennsylvania, and initially relocated to eastern MA for college before landing in central MA. She lives with her husband in Worcester and works full-time as an elementary music teacher. She is passionate about Route One’s focus on building relationships and consistently showing up to be the hands and feet of Jesus for the women we serve, and has seen firsthand how life-changing it can be. She is excited to continue working with Route One to reach more exploited women with the message that they are treasured and precious in the Lord’s sight. In her free time she enjoys reading, exploring local coffee shops, and making music.

Marj Vitale

Marj has been a licensed clinical psychologist for 24 years, working in nonprofits, private practice, and now as Lead Clinician at The Cigna Group. She has been married for 22 years and has two children, ages 15 and 12. In her free time, she enjoys being with family, meeting friends for coffee, and walking her dogs.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fiona Parker

was born in Boston, grew up in Ireland, and returned to the States for high school and college. During a presentation at a church event several years ago, she was moved by a trafficked survivor sharing her story and was struck by how pervasive exploitation is – not only in the US, but also in her own community. She began volunteering at Amirah (a local organization providing refuge to survivors) and is looking forward to working collaboratively with her fellow board members at Route 1 to help effect positive change in the lives of women seeking freedom from exploitation. An IT auditor by trade, in her free time, Fiona enjoys crafts, Zumba, and spending time with her husband and baby son.

Desiree Acosta

brings a unique and invaluable lived experience to Route One Ministry’s Board as a survivor of sexual exploitation. Driven by a divine calling to “go into the deep,” she is steadfastly committed to eradicating sex trafficking and exploitation, as the consequential destruction of families and communities is too high. Prior to joining Route One, Desiree has advocated for those in need, empowering women, children, and families to overcome homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, and sexual exploitation. Her fervent prayer is “that every dimmed light and broken heart be made whole through the love of God.” Desiree is a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband, Jorge, are loving foster parents to numerous four-legged friends, while also providing care for her grandmother, Julia, Desiree’s treasure.

Yeemay Su

With a servant’s heart, Yeemay is deeply grateful to serve on Route One Ministry’s Board of Directors. Her goal is to help women know they are loved, precious, and seen by our Father in Heaven—who grants us redemption, freedom and a new life through Jesus our Savior.  Yeemay is a survivor and mother to four adult children (including a daughter adopted from Ukraine). She is a Registered Dietitian and nutrition consultant with a B.S. degree in Nutritional Science from Cornell University, a Master’s degree in Health and Social Behavior from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a lecturer for the Dept of Public Health and Health Science at Northeastern University, Boston. Her professional focus is on prevention and upstream interventions for youth and adults to build healthy relationships and pursue lives of wellness and wholeness.

Cara Garrity

Cara is an ordained minister with Grace Communion International. She lives on the Northshore with her two dogs and cat. She began her journey of anti-trafficking work in college and has been blessed to have experiences with prevention, intervention, and aftercare efforts. She has been especially drawn to the work that Route One does and is eager to bring her experience as a former volunteer to the Board.
