Route One reaches women and young girls sexually trafficked by entering strip clubs and building relationships with the women who work in the clubs. Route One desires to increase the number of women we reach each week by increasing the number of volunteers, staff, and clubs that we enter. Currently, we serve in Worcester, Springfield, and Boston communities, reaching nearly 70 women a week; we would like to reach 130 more women over the next two years.
We desperately want to reach 130 more women over the next two years. We plan to build supportive communities by fostering awareness of the people surrounding the women as they leave. We intend to provide interview and job placement skills by partnering with community centers. And to intervene before they are trafficked by educating middle school students. (Because the average of trafficked victims in the US is 12-years-old!).
We need your help to end the exploitation of women and young girls. We need your help in the form of money and people. Route One plans to raise $255,000 over the next year. In addition, we plan to increase our effective reach by increasing our staff. By hiring a Director of Outreach and Director of Education, we can more effectively reach women with the support they need to exit life for good.
